The animals swing back and forth on their own with the motion of your car. The mirror is just big enough to not be in the way but to enable you to still see our daughter. The back is adjustable so you can easily install it in to any car no matter the size of the headrest. You're even able to put it on the back of a headrest for when you turn to forward facing. The little raccoon and lady bug are really vibrant and fun looking and the mirror is soft so if by chance it were to fall off it wouldn't harm the baby. It's a must-have since I can't be in the back seat ALL the time. The mirror allows me to keep an eye on him from the driver's seat. It has a nice reflection that I can see clearly. The product isn't cheap, but I felt like it was worth it to have something functional that the baby would like. Cheaper ones looked like they scratch easier and didn't have a good reflection. This mirror is fun for baby and not annoying or unsafe for the driver. My 8 week old already loves the little sloth swinging from side to side. Mommy's favorite part: no batteries to change!
