Does Toys"R"Us promote from within? A. Absolutely. Toys"R"Us believes in contributing to the personal and professional growth of our people. In fact, we have a mission to promote internal opportunities to Toys"R"Us employees before extending an offer to any external candidates. Q. What is the interview process like? A. If you are called to come in for an interview, in most cases, you will meet with a Human Resources representative (Certain positions also may require skill testing, and/or a background check prior to employment). If there is a potential fit, you can anticipate meeting with several other individuals before a decision to hire is made. This may require more than one visit to our offices. Of course, references will be checked before any offer of employment is extended. Q. I went to a Job Fair and nobody from Toys"R"Us called me back. What's the deal? A. If a currently available position fits with your qualifications, we'll call you to set up an interview appointment. If your qualifications do not match our needs at present, your résumé will be kept on file for a period of 6 months for our recruiters to access for future opportunities. Q. I sent my résumé in a couple of days ago. How long will it take before I can schedule an interview? A. If a current available position fits with your qualifications, you will be contacted to set up an interview appointment. However, if your background does not match any current positions, it will be kept on file for 6 months. Q. Do you have any openings in marketing or public relations? A. Every now and then we have open positions in these departments. Try searching for available marketing positions under Corporate Jobs. If your experience and skills match the requirements, send in your résumé. Q. How do I find out if there are any positions available in a specific store? A. All of our stores are responsible for handling all hiring needs individually. If you're interested in a position as a sales associate, we encourage you to apply in person at the location of your choice. Q. How old do I have to be to work in one of your stores or offices? A. We've established 16 years as the minimum age of employment in order to be consistent with the legislated minimum working age in all provinces. Q. Can I apply for a position in your corporate offices from overseas? A. Yes. If you are not a Canadian citizen, you will simply need to provide the necessary documentation that proves you can legally work in Canada in order to be hired. |
