<span itemprop="description">Would have received a higher rating if the rod was more functional. Ie. The line does not reel in -it is stationary. The pieces must be positioned upright to attach to the rod; however, they oftentimes get knocked over when the child is attempting to "reel" them in and thus require frequent repositioning. This takes away from the flow of the toy. The pieces must also be lined up closely to the end of the rod. It didn't maintain the interest that I was hoping for for my two and a half year old. The toy is well made and is entertaining once the pieces have been "caught" by the rod.</span>

She really likes the little games (like, "find the red crab") and cute songs. I love that the toy is reinforcing some of the things, like numbers and colors, that she is learning at this age. The sea creatures are pretty easy to catch since they are magnetic, so its a little bit challenging for preschoolers but not frustrating. Overall, it is well made, fun, and educational so it gets 5 stars from our family.</span>

Using some super smart technology, the fishing rod recognizes each individual sea creature and then, upon making contact, triggers unique sounds, songs, and lights. The whole fishing set is great for both introducing and reiterating animals, colors, and numbers - all in a fun and engaging way that doesn't even feel like learning. As a parent, I'm especially pleased that all of the pieces neatly store away into the included bucket, so I know the kids are less likely to lose the pieces ... and I'm also therefore less likely to step on them in the middle of the night.</span>
