When seeing this, I wasn't familiar with anything Treasure X - I just saw that it had a surprise in it like blind bags, only it was a much more substantial toy for the money. Plus my son is obsessed with sharks, so win-win. I definitely was not disappointed with the reaction I got. My son was highly entertained with this set, and continues to play with it. I love how it's not just opening a plastic bag and you're done. You have a lot more involved parts that keeps your child(ren)'s attention for some time, and you can also add to this with other purchases besides it being just a one-time toy. There are different parts to entertain kids for more than a few minutes (from getting the shark out to rescuing the character to finding treasure and then playing with the shark itself). My son loved opening the bottle and cutting into the shark to find the treasure. The picture instructions were great for helping understand what to do. And after the initial fun of discovering items he was left with high quality toys and the bottle to display them.
