My daughter opened it up and absolutely loved it! The sword is quite large and has some weight to it. The detail on the sword is quite impressive for a toy. The sounds sound just like a lightsaber from the movies. It makes sounds as you swing the sword and if you hold the button, it activates flickering lights similar to lightning. The sword stays lit until you press the button and then the lightsaber powers down the lights and a sound signifying it is off. The lights and sounds are very realistic. I really like that you only have to swing it to get the sound effects or you can press a button. It adds a lot of fun and realism to playtime. It makes the awesome sounds when it turns on and off, just like the show. It also has some motion sense and changes the sounds as you swing it or strike something. I was also surprised at how balanced it actually is for a sword. It's pretty hefty. Made me feel like a kid for sure. Totally got this for myself. Haha My only complaint is the placement of the power button. It's located right at the top of the hilt. And it's a large rectangle. Holding it double handed to swing, I kept accidentally turning it off.
