The fabric is stitched securely and withstands my child's usage, which for me is the most important. Shimmy the Unicorns little strip of hair is super soft and fluffy and does not shed. Another positive when it comes to stuffed toys and children. The base of the rattle is gripable for babies aged 0 and up. It has a quiet little rattle to it when shaken. So it's not one of those loud annoying rattles like most are. This is definitely a rattle I feel is safe for my child in case it goes right into her mouth, I know it's not going to harm her or hit herself accidentally. I prefer the soft plush design of this rattle, it's priced fairly, super cute and unicorns are very popular.
