My kids were so fascinated with all of the different models they can make and collect. The actual ship we built was so detailed and cool to make. Although it is a game that he has not played, I thought he would enjoy the build. It is large with some unique pieces. He started out strong by putting the figures and the small ATV together . He started the turret, then the set sat on our bar for days. The unfamiliarity of the game/theme actually worked against me. When the build resumed, it went quickly until step 70. All 6 pieces of Part #AM80120AWC were missing. This is an important piece where the studs need to line up with a bigger piece, so construction was stopped again. Although no fault of the set design, it does not seem like it can continue to its final form. I think the alternate build may be a better choice for my son. The set and figures seemed sturdy with playability potential. The colors of this set look like they would fit in with other sets/different themes that my son has displayed. He was able to put it together without help from me. After putting together he still flies ship around and interacts with other block inventions. My 11 year old has literally spent hours building with both the paper instructions included as well as the second online set of instructions! It is well made and compatible with all of his other brands of block sets. We are no stranger to Mega Construx and will continue to purchase. As always, they are durable, well made and the theme is perfect for his age and interests! This set is fun to build, pieces fit great and instructions are very clear. My 13 year old can not get enough of this build. The missiles really launch making this product fun to shoot across the room or at the warriors. I love how high quality the set is pieces are strong and sturdy and connect together effortlessly. The two in one is great as well because you can not get bored and I love how builds are totally different from each other as well.
