I purchased this manual pump to try and mitigate these issues and I&rsquo;ve never taken out the electric pump again. It takes a bit of practice, but his pump is easy to use, portable, comfortable, and the yield is the same or better (my yield has never really been great, maybe 50mL/session). I&rsquo;ve gone from painful (sometimes multiple) plugged ducts on a daily basis, to maybe one every week or two. I also like that the parts are interchangeable with other madela products. In many ways I feel like I owe the fact that I&rsquo;m still able to breastfeed to this product. The product arrived and it was missing one of the lids for the bottles; I contacted the Medela customer service and the FedEx overnighted me a new lid and it literally arrived the next day; amazing customer service and I was kinda blown away. Easy to take with you on the go, the harmony works almost as quickly as my electric breast pump--I can pump a 4 oz bottle in 4-8 minutes. The only downside is that they recommend you sterilize it in boiling water every day. After using it for almost 30 days, however, it stopped working. The seal seemed to have been lost--I could hear air coming in and out when I tried to pump. When I called Medela (luckily right before the 30 day manufacturer's warranty), they figured out right away that it was the small white ring that goes on the end of the yellow piece that fits into the handle. I didn't even need to send in my pump--I just emailed them the receipt and received the part by courier within 2 days, at their expense. A handy and easily portable pump. I only use it 1-3 times a month for when we have date night and baby is left with the grandparents. This kit only comes with two bottles so I would recommend getting a 20 pack of sterile milk medela bags. I keep 2 bags in the freezer for spur of the moment date night getaways. If you are planning to pump for more than just date nights, get an automatic pump - as the hand pump takes a little longer and takes a bit more work.
