Alfred is 8 months. However, this said he really enjoyed the nursery rhymes it plays as he recognises them so it does engage him. The more he interacts with it the more he understands how the toy works. I don't think he is that far off figuring out how to press the buttons, his hold on the toy has already improved and he no longer attempts eat it which I think is just the first step of trying any toy really! You'll usually find him playing with mine or my husbands. No toy phone has ever kept him as entertained, it's like they can spot its not real. The little baby bum singalong phone is the only one that can keep his attention. It has so many modes that I'm afraid to admit even I can't figure them all out, but my little boy has it sorted. He is always wandering around with it and ill often catch him chatting to the characters. I love all the different modes, particularly the nursery rhymes it plays and also the call mode where he can call different characters. It's really sturdy and has coped really well with us taking it everywhere with us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone else.
