They are fuzzy and the details are well done. They come with their own little story book. The set is awesome for open-ended play and my little one loves them! It has been a fun way to get my daughter into story telling, since I ask her questions about what they're doing. My boys are 4, 5, and 8. They each grabbed one. They are soft and are hard too at spots. They are great for there age probably like 4 and up.
