A well designed and executed revisit to the 2002 UCS that is sturdier, more resilient over time, and far more accurate to the movie. You can put it down to a "great gray triangle" if you really must be so callous but that ignores the level of detail and intricate technique used in its construction. It looks fabulous on display with only minor flaws. There are a few spots where off-color pieces can be seen through small gaps in the exterior and these really should have been replaced with gray ones. However this is only noticeable if you know where to look or are putting its gaps under direct light - when displayed under normal room lighting they are lost in shadows. The price can be off-putting, especially now that it's retired. It definitely requires appropriate space. It's minifigure count is probably disappointing but I think that's a bit of a silly nitpick for what is clearly a display piece and not a playset. I thoroughly enjoyed the build experience, a solid 25 hours spent over the course of a week. If that degree of time investment is too much, you'll likely find more enjoyment with sets that aren't as large or involved. I can't agree with reviews complaining about the set being difficult to move, flimsy, or had panels falling apart. This was my first time building a set this large and I had no such issues. The instructions are explicit on how to attach the exterior panels to the frame and how to lift the set and their recommendations work well. I've accidentally knocked against the table or sits on several times and have had no issues with instability or damage. This really is one of the best Lego sets I've ever seen. I knew I wanted a Lego Star Destroyer and I have absolutely no regrets with my choice.
Date published: 2024-02-24

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marshall from Great Had lots of fun biuilding this With my son. It knows what it is, and what it isn’t. It is a detailed display piece that holds up well… if you don’t move it and you ignore the rear bottom body panels that are flimsy at best, and impossible to keep together at worst. Ignoring that problem, the set is impressively big, and allows the builder to enjoy their work when it is finished. The stand, while passable, comes apart too easily. For MSRP, there are much better options. But this is the set for you if you want a giant triangle on display
Date published: 2023-01-14

Rated 5 out of 5 by CalculatingReindeer038 from Big Ship This will be a great addition for any collector. It comes with two mini-figs but it's not mini-fig scale which is fine by me. The amount of detail with gun placements, shield generators and the Tantaive IV. It's a display piece and shouldn't be played with. When moving it follow the instructions so you don't break anything inadvertently. It definitely catches anybody eye when walking in, even people who aren't Star Wars fans recognize it. It's retired now but if you get a chance to get a used one for a reasonable price, I would take it. A must have for Lego Star Wars fans.
Date published: 2023-01-12

LEGO Star Wars TM Imperial Star Destroyer 75252 (4784 pieces) Reviews - page 2

y_2024, m_4, d_22, h_4

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.41

cp_1, bvpage1

co_hasreviews, tv_5, tr_211

loc_en_CA, sid_84ABEBE5, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 6ms

reviews, product
