<span itemprop="description">I usually don’t pick up the helmet sets as I like the Star War ships more, but another place had it on sale so I picked up a couple.
The final build of the Red 5 helmet looks great with the rest of my collection. I like the details of this helmet since it’s so vibrant with colors and fairly distinct.
I would also say that it looks better in person than it does in photo.
In terms of value, it is OK. While there are quite a few pieces in the box, an entire bag is used for the stand itself.
With that said I will probably be collecting more; they do look pretty awesome.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This build was wonderful as all the other helmets I’ve ordered. The vibrant colors, the visor, and the nostalgia were strong with this one indeed. The challenging part would be the larger visor pieces would fall out fairly often when I needed to move the helmet around to work on other sides unfortunately. The last challenging part would be the yellow tubes, if you don’t bend them before hand or put the next piece on before you attach the tubes they’ll keep flying off. But overall I loved the final product!</span>

Shouldn’t be necessary but I still had fun overall building it and it’s one of the coolest helmets of the collection. The glue has been holding for months as well and you can’t even see it either.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have a love / hate relationship with the helmets, they are conceptually very cool but I’ve found that the few times I’ve been frustrated with Lego, it’s been with these sets and this one, by far has been the most frustrating. Those yellow tubes are the WORST. I tried and I tried and I can not get them to stay attached. I ultimately gave up and took a break from Lego. In the interim, a friend received this same set as a gift and I jokingly told him he’ll be calling me when he hits and certain point and sure enough, he hit the same roadblock. This helmet is cool, but the failure around the yellow tubes is glaring and ruined the experience for me. I’d love to figure out a way to make it work one day, but for now, they’re in a drawer and I’ve moved on.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have built all the helmets except the Mandalorian. This helmet is definitely the most unique with an open-face construction, the piping on the top of the helmet, and a step away from all the other helmets that are primarily one color. I enjoyed the build quite a bit with my only gripe being the piping on the top, a little finicky to get them seated right and not popping off.
My biggest issue with this helmet is the proportions. The visor, earmuffs, chinstrap, and mic are all good proportions, but the width vs. the helmet's height is terribly off. The helmet needs to be taller, much taller. First, the rebellion's symbol is facing too far up in the sky compared to the actual helmet, which has them facing more forward. Looking at the built helmet straight on, especially from the back you can see that it is much wider than it is tall. If they bumped it up a few more studs it would be a perfect build. The best way to see this disproportion is to look at the lego box. On the backside, there is a photo of Luke from the movie where the helmet is head-on, with the build to the side. You can see the difference.
I still really enjoy the helmet and enjoyed the build, just disappointed that the accuracy is off</span>

<span itemprop="description">According to the manual this was Lego's first open helmet. I had some concerns that the design would be compromised due to this but I believe that the designers have done a good job here and it fits the series really well.
The build was fun and enjoyable and followed the pattern of all the others (Dark Trooper being the exception) - base, stand, structure and then helmet.
A lot of the negative reviews discuss the yellow rods and the difficulty in placing them. Mine went on at the first attempt, convincing me that I had not done them correctly, so I repeated the process and again they went straight on? Perhaps I have a different batch or just got lucky - I don't know but I didn't experience any building issues and my final piece is very stable.
Perhaps due to the negative reviews this item can be found at very competitive prices and offers great value for money.
So why four stars? - Stickers! I'm generally OK with stickers up to a price point and this would normally fall within that price point but some of these stickers are tricky to place. A 90 degree contoured circle that meets another circle both need stickers and they need to be aligned. Not easy and especially obvious when there are so many high quality printed pieces included.
Regardless, I would still recommend this item.
For those who display their Lego; Darth Vader, Red 5 and the Tie Fighter helmets can just about fit on a well known display cabinet shelf with the trench run diorama in the foreground.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This was my first Lego helmet build and I have to say it’s put me off buying anymore. I was really looking forward to this as it’s a great looking model and I’m a huge Star Wars fan. The build itself seems very flimsy compared to all other Lego builds I’ve ever done. Normally With most Lego builds, quite early on, you get to a point where the model is structurally very sound. This never really happens with this build and you will often find yourself at a point where the build collapses and you have to go back and start a section again. To make matters worse there are the dreaded yellow rods of doom. This is by far the most awkward part of the build which puts undue stress on weak joints and tends to pull the model apart time and time again. On average I normally build at least half a dozen Lego models every year and have done so for many years. So I was very surprised to find how difficult and frustrating this particular build was. The end model looks great however the process to get there is frustrating and the end product is quite Fragile compared to most Lego builds.</span>

<span itemprop="description">This is my favorite of the current helmet line, the colors are bright and it's obvious what it is at first glance it's hard to tell it's lego. The goggles chinstrap and microphone all add to that and are slightly adjustable as you see fit. The only thing that would really improve this would be a smaller scale figure with the helmet on, like we get with most droid sculptures but I understand why this was not included. Maybe I'll have to make my own extension to showcase my Luke minifigure in his Pilot helmet!</span>
