What a surprise! Really pleased with how much I enjoyed building this with the kids (5 and 9 year old) - lots of good engineering in the build - particularly loved the sliding hatch, and secret compartments for lightsabers - at a skill level that wasn't too advanced. But only if piece count vs cost is the only thing you look at. I dont look at a DOTS set and see the high piece count vs cost as a great deal... This is a great set with an awesome design to it. After building it I would say it is almost worth the price lego has on it, as it has a lot of big &amp; specialty pieces to it... i got one with a nearly destroyed box and paid less. This set is quite stout &amp; sturdy when completed. It has two clever storage areas for General Grievous' light sabers while he is awkwardly in the cockpit. The center of the ship also has a hollow area I put all the extra pieces in, I think big sets should all have this. Overall great ship, Grievous is a neat minifig but the other two are nothing special. My biggest drawback is the very thin 'landing gear' tail. It needs to be wider and not rotate so easily. For LEGO designers- For all instructions I think the spot that shows which new pieces are added for next step &amp; how many, should show them in the order that they should be put on the build, from left to right . Not as bad as all the one star reviews would suggest, but it is overpriced. I think the real problem is that no one will forgive LEGO for this because they phoned in the minifigs. If they had been made with care, like at a minimum accurate, there would not be this absurd level of hate towards this set. It&rsquo;s strange because LEGO has to know by now that if they simply add at least one more army building minifig and or give us a unique high quality minifig that we will mostly ignore being overcharged for a set. The minifigures included are just... common... a reused tattered Obi-Wan Kenobi, a CLONE WARS STYLE AIRBORN TROOPER IN A REVENGE OF THE SITH SET, and a avarage General Grievous which I have no problems with. I have no idea what LEGO is thinking including all these Clone Wars style clones in Live Action based sets, being General Grievous's Starfighter and now the Ultimate Collectors Series Republic Gunship... why wouldn't lego restrict this design for Clone Wars based sets only, and continue making the live action prints for, you know... live action based prequel sets?? Personally I think the 2013/14 clones where darn near perfect, besides the non existing holes on the sides of the P2 helmets. Then Lego got lazy with Obi-Wan, they just reused it from Mustafar. The price it a huge issue and that is why most people didn&rsquo;t buy this.
