I love all the details in 4 Privet Drive but my favorites are the cupboard under the stairs, the chimney mail slot, Harry's detachable window (the escape piece), and the floating cake! There are so many more hidden treasures and each one helps to bring the story to life. The flying car is beautiful and functional for play within the set and independently. Dobby as a mini figure is also one of the cutest things I have ever seen! There were a couple of minor pieces that seem to be part of Dobby's tricks as they often come out of place. Namely, those were the stair columns and Aunt Petunia's tree out front. I deducted one star because of these elements and how tight the space inside the house is for actual play. Otherwise, this set is just as magical as the HP series itself. I am so, so happy to add 4 Privet Drive to our HP Lego collection.
Date published: 2020-09-02

Rated 5 out of 5 by Holka from A Fan Favorite! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter loves everything Harry Potter so she was so excited to get the 4 Privet Drive Lego set. She immediately put it together on her own with no issues. Just followed the instruction booklet and she had it put together in no time. She really thought the cupboard under the stairs was such a cool detail to the set and the lever to send the letters was pretty clever, too. The Lego set comes with two owls and six figures so you can recreate a lot of the scenes that took place at the Dursley’s house. The car was also fun to build, too. Some of the highlights were 1. Harry has a cupboard under the stairs. 2. Ron is able to pull off the bars in movie 2 and the same thing can be done with this LEGO set as well. 3. There is a mail box with a wheel. When the wheel is turned the mail comes in. The letters are super cute too. 4. They had lots of comfy furniture including a bed. 5. In this set, there are two owls belonging to Harry and Ron. 6. Ron had his father’s Enchanted car. 7. The car had a chain in the back for pulling out the bars. 8. The set even has a sign that says “privet drive” with an owl on it. 9. The characters are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Dudley Dursley, Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. 10. There are beautiful plants. 11. Many pictures are hung on the wall. The look of the building is good and pretty realistic to the one in the film and is a nice build in itself, even if it wasn't a harry potter house - it is a realistic modern house design rather than a generic city/friends style house and stands out as a result. The feature of the letters coming out of the chimney is great, and it has been a blessing the gear wheel isn't at the side of the building, as can often be the case. Fab to have all the Dursley family and are a good representation Love the tile with sticker for harry's family photo album - nice touch, and the dursley family photo is appropriate. Hedwig - this seems to be the style for this years releases. Great to have a version with spread wings, but we still need ones with closed wings to enable putting her into a cage, or the owlery or other scenes. Makes her seem more disproportionate to minifigs and less easy to get harry holding her. Not so good. The house is SMALL and cramped at the back. Even a couple more stud depth would have made it better, and stop it looking like someone tried to jam several rooms into one! The part count of the set could have been better used to allow this eg the roof could have been made from less pieces and see re the car below The cupboard under the stairs and stairs are in totally the wrong place!! AArgh! Every film showing the stairs clearly shows they start at the door, and lead away from the door, and the cupboard is down the hall away from the door not next to it. Since the cupboard opens to the outside of the house, there's no excuse there - it could easily have been designed to be in the correct alignment with the film of the house. Harry slept on a bed of some description, not the floor, so raising the bed with 1x1 round plates would have been better (ok that's nit picky, but so easy to do). The ford anglia makes the house linked very much to the chamber of secrets as it's the only time it features with the house. This is a pity, as it could have been more useable for multiple films involving the house. Given this is clearly linked to the second film the cupboard is surplus to requirements and the parts used to improve the house. The way it is done is an awkward add on which doesn't add any value to the set. Fair enough to put in a door with a grill sticker, but the rest of it could be better used elsewhere I would also say the same for the car given we are now on our third one. It would have been better to make the house more than the one up one down it is, and able to be used for many more scenes, (and with the stairs in the right direction!!). In terms of function the house is well below par compared to generic Lego houses. I appreciate those newer to the sets might want the car, but the previous versions are available secondhand (or the pieces bought to build it). A solid house would have scored more highly. I suspect people may think the model is expensive for what you get, as they see the size of the house, and forget a chunk of parts are taken by the car build. A separate car as a set in itself would have made for a popular good set (think how well speed champions sell), enabling the house to be better. As for the bright blue stairs and hallway - no no no! They are too loud for aunt petunia's taste! The colour looks totally out of context to the rest of the set. A much lighter shade or colour should have been used. Not totally comfortable with the sofa colour too - maybe again a paler one, or one that's not totally the purple/lilac shade it is to mix it up. They have done this with harry's bed and that works really well. I just hope that Lego read our reviews given how much I have written! meantime, I'm off to moc the house into a decent sized one :)
Date published: 2020-07-28

Rated 5 out of 5 by TBayes24 from Privet drive This was the best privet drive I remember when the old version was released it didn’t really catch my eye when this one came out i knew i had to get it as it was very detailed i love the ford anglia it was a very good little build the cuboard under the stairs is a nice detail to add to the set
Date published: 2020-07-17

Rated 5 out of 5 by emmyc from A fun build and piece to have I haven't bought a lego set in a while, but this one was perfect. It’s wonderful. With two owls and 6 figures you can recreate most scenes that took place at the Dursley’s house (besides when the Order took him to safety - unless you have loads of Harry figures) The cupboard under the stairs works well tho could have some more details. The fireplace and all the letters is fantastic as well is the floating cake. The breakaway wall to rescue Harry is wonderful and so is the car in general. The figures all look great, and so does the general build of the house (love the purple sofas) however the stairs are a bit clunky and bright to me, looks a bit too square (and technically aren’t in the right place but I can forgive that). The only thing I would love is the kitchen to complete the house but I understand based on the pricing. As much as I’d love it to be in a dollhouse style I understand that would have doubled the price. Overall I highly recommend to a Potter fan.
Date published: 2020-06-02

y_2025, m_5, d_13, h_13

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_3, bvpage2n

co_hasreviews, tv_20, tr_57

loc_en_CA, sid_74B299BA, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 10ms

reviews, product
