It's her first big girl bike without training wheels. It is light enough for her to walk alongside when she needs to. There was no way to know the piece was faulty until the bike was ridden - first ride the chain guard got caught in the pedal crank arm and jammed, causing a fall - thankfully no injuries. Contacted customer service and was told that because the bike had been ridden there was nothing they could do, even though the product they sold me was damaged. I just wish i could raise the seat a bit higher just because she's tall for a 9 years old. There's a minimum mark on the seat insert...so i couldn't raise the seat higher than that.
