Pros: Cranky's head is attached to the base. Bulstrode can carry four cargos, set comes with four cargos. Cons: Cranky's iconic cranks are gone and replaced with a single knob - this is a big change and while I call it a con, the new version may be easier for kids to operate. The toy was very entertaining for my son. The magnetic feature of the toy makes it very interesting to play with! He loves his new Thomas the Train toy. It added another layer of play using the barge that my child previously did not have. The magnetic cargo is a nice touch, and Cranky is easy enough for our 5 year old to figure out. It isn't played with daily, but I do see this lasting a long time. Cranky himself comes on a plastic track base and he is made of both wood and plastic. He is able to fully rotate. The cranking mechanism, will go down and up in the same cranking motion. However, once at the top you must change directions to go back down. The barge is mostly plastic with a wood cabin. All art work appears to be painted, which follows most Thomas toys, rather than stickers. The barge measures about 7&quot; long, 2-1/4&quot; wide, 2&quot; tall. He loves the characters Cranky and Bullstrode from Thomas and Friends. When he received the toy he immediately took it upstairs to play with it and attach it to his existing tracks. It holds his interest quite well. The toys are good quality and the pieces fit well with his existing train tracks. My son has spent hours playing with this toy. We especially love that the track is easy-to-build and can be used with our other Thomas sets (bonus that it's built with eco-friendly wood). Magnets on Cranky and the cargo pieces make lifting and lowering each one fun. There's plenty of room on the boat for everything. And my 4 year old loves incorporating the crane operator into each game since he's a freestanding figure. We definitely recommend this toy. After opening the mail my boy wanted to get the pieces out of the package right away and was very excited to start playing. The set comes with several different &ldquo;cargo boxes&rdquo; that magnet to the crane so you can pick up and drop down to the boat below. The magnet crane was a highlight and kept my child engaged he even started testing out different toys to see what stuck to it and what didn&rsquo;t. Very fun and entertaining toy and a fun addition to other Thomas the train tracks.
