It rolls very well even on carpet. The ladder is great and folds up easily for little hands. The ladder also spins around. I really love the little details the Fire Truck has - an ax, a hose, and a ladder. The only downside is that the Fireman doesn't stay/fit in very well and is constantly falling out. I've tried pushing it in, pushing a tad harder, putting it on sideways and twisting until straight but nothing works to keep the Fireman inside it's spot. My kid is a beast, but this is durable enough that I don't worry about him breaking it. The size is just right and big enough that I don't have to worry about him choking on anything. Not as sturdy as 50 year old toys perhaps, but this is well built and is taking a licking from my little one. Drives smooth and water cannon arm moves up and down.
