My children love that the saddle and reigns can be removed and put back on with ease. The Chelsea doll sits on the horse easily, and can stand against the horse, but not on her own. But my kids don't seem to mind! All the items included are very high quality and seem to be pretty durable from all the rough play they've encountered during their horse adventures! She loves barbies in general but Plays with this set a lot. She is three so this is the perfect size for her. The only downside is that she cannot get the doll to stay on the horse, no matter how many times we put her back on. The Chelsea doll has bendable knees to ride the pony which is really awesome. They have both enjoyed lots of creative play with the pony in particular including races and teaching the pony new tricks. I wanted to note the following in case other parents have children who still put toys in their mouth. Within the first two days of playing with the doll and pony my children somehow managed to accidentally pull of the dolls leg below the knee. It did take some finagling to reattach her leg, but my husband was able to fix it.
