At Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us Canada, one of our areas of charitable focus is supporting children with special needs and the broader community of their family and caregivers.

A key part of supporting the special needs community is helping to foster inclusion.

Toys“R”Us U.S. pioneered the annual Toys“R”Us Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids^®, a resource featuring specially selected toys that aid in the development of children with physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities.

Toys“R”Us Canada is proud to announce that the Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids is now available online.

In partnership with the National Lekotek Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the world
    accessible to children of all abilities, we assess the play value of hundreds of toys for children with
     special needs.

As safety is also a cornerstone of our business, the Guide features a section on “Safe Play Tips for Children with
    Special Needs,” created with guidance from leading safety and special needs organizations to help avoid
    playtime injuries.

Our relationship with Autism Speaks Canada represents our largest partnership with a special needs organization.

Our Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us locations across North America hold annual in-store fundraising campaigns
     in conjunction with Autism Awareness Month in April.

Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us Employees across North America participate in the Walk Now for Autism Speaks
     program, a series of 80 fundraising Walk events held in communities across Canada and the United States.


Ten Toys that Speak to Autism

As part of this overall charitable partnership, Toys“R”Us has created a toy resource to help parents and caregivers of children with autism.

We’ve identified toys that can help little ones with autism develop language, creativity and social skills, among
     others, while playing alongside siblings and friends.

The “Ten Toys That Speak To Autism,” provides toy suggestions specifically for families and friends of children
    on the spectrum.

Since research shows that children with cognitive, emotional or social limitations, including those with autism,
     are more prone to accidental injuries, Safe Play Tips relevant for children with autism also are promoted during
     the campaign.
