It did not take him long to get comfortable driving, starting with slow gear then moving to the faster one. Like the feature to lock down faster gear til confidence built up. Reverse is a welcomed feature. Battery life is pretty good before need for re-charge. With a passenger, it is shorter due to additional load. It has 2 speeds and a reverse which is great. Works on grass, hills. Worth the money to see what fun it brings. Great if you live near a park. Have had it for 2 years with minimal use and the battery is starting to go - hope there is a sale on replacement battery so I don't have to cough up $120. Really like the fact that it has seatbelts; really like you can put a screw in the gear shift to control speed so if a little one is going they can't rev up to high speed. only 1 wheel seems to be motorized in back so it does get stuck easily, such a beefy looking ride too bad they didn't use something other than plastic for the tires to get some real traction. My only wish-list for this vehicle would be an on/off switch. We have to pull the battery plug when at the park and not using it to prevent other little ones from jumping in and going on a joy ride. It was a hit! Only draw backs are that there is way too much assembly for the amount you paid for this toy, and the turn radius isn&rsquo;t as good as it should be.
