This cute little toy chameleon encourages kids to explore the world around them to learn about colors and numbers. Press the button on the chameleon's tail to scan any color they find (the rug, the floor, a pillow). The chameleon will turn that color - and even identify it for kids! Or, they can spread the paint splats on the floor, pick a play mode and be prompted to follow directions, count, play games and more! There are 3 interactive ways to play: Colors, Counting and Games. In Colors mode, the chameleon encourages color hunts and other interactive play to help kids understand the difference between colors and identify each color by name. "That's red! Show me your favorite color." He'll even teach them how to mix colors to make new ones! "Let's make purple. What colors do we need?" In Counting mode, as kids scan colors and the chameleon changes colors, they count them together. The chameleon can also help teach your preschooler numbers. "What comes after the number 6 but before the number 8?" In Games mode, kids will love trying to beat the clock as they play timed games like Follow the Lights and Counting Colors! "Find 5 blue objects in 10 seconds. Ready? Go." In this mode, preschoolers are having lots of fun while they're learning to listen & follow directions!

Fisher-Price Smart Scan Color Chameleon - English Edition is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 147.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this, it teaches wrong colors. I don't think it's a good idea to buy this toy. It consistently tells the kid he has the wrong answer, and sometimes identifies the wrong colors, saying a dark red is brown etc. I get that a toy can't be expected to have the precision of expensive equipment, but that's why this kind of thing shouldn't be a toy. If a child is learning, it's not helpful to get the wrong answer or be told he's wrong when he's not. I let my 4 year old play with it because he knows the toy is wrong, but he's not allowed to let the two year old play with it. It was a gift or I would return it. I would not buy this, and I highly suggest you don't either.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Think and learn smart scan color chameleon This is a great toy for toddlers in helping to teach them colors. It is a well made toy. It works great scanning the included paint splotches and in helping to teach my toddler colors, it just doesn't work well for scanning other objects. She would get frustrated because it would mix up the colors of random objects around the house and just wouldn't scan at all. It is a great concept and toy with the included paint splotches, but if your toddler is carrying it around and trying to scan random objects, its not great. After a while, she lost insterest and just pushed it around the room like a car [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good potential but falls a bit short Like others have said sometimes it's hard to get it to identify colors correctly. It does great when using the paint splatters it comes with, but it can't change colors to black, brown. Why include colors in the box it can't change to? Or better yet, those are common colors so why not make the chameleon able to change to those colors? Great learning toy and great concept just not quite complete.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun & interactive way to learn colors and numbers This is a wonderful toy! Its educational and entertaining. My children love it! They fight over this toy constantly. My oldest couldn't get enough of it and loved all of the different games it lets you play. They especially enjoy the color find game. The only thing we noticed (and that they did complained about) is that sometimes it is difficult for them to scan things. It's not because of the lighting (which can affect the scanner and hasn't really been an issue), but just because they struggled with getting the scanner flat enough to scan things sometimes. I don't know if it would help if the scanner was bigger or angled differently. It impedes play occasionally, but not enough to stop my kids from playing with it. I would have rated this as "excellent" toy rather than "good" were it not for the issue with the scanner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute toy with good learning capabilities I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. I have a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. Both kids enjoy playing with this chameleon. My 4 year old obviously knows her colors but she liked the game mode where you have to mimick the color sequence. My almost 2 year old will use this more as practice for learning colors. I was pleased to discover it can also teach them how to count to 10. Overall it is a great toy and I would recommend highly for the 2-3 age group especially! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun toy for everybody We found the chameleon on clearance, and as soon as we opened it, we wondered why?! It's such a fun toy: it scans colors (you can make it scan your clothes, books, furniture...everything!) and will tell you at loud what they are. The chameleon also has the option to play games with you: it will make you go hunt for colors and count them ("can you find something yellow?"). It can also tell you how colors are made (mix blue and red for purple). My kids, 3 and 1, have a lote of fun with it, and my husband loves it too for some reason...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE!! My son is 3 and loves asking me what color is something. He lost his mind when the chameleon changes different colors when he places it on any item. He loves it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat little toy My boys really like this little chameleon. You scan a color/object and it will turn the color that the object is. It also has a game where it counts how many of one color it asks you to find, a game for mixing colors (ex: find the color blue then find the color red and it mixes the colors to make purple), as well as a game telling what color you find or asks you to find a specific color. Only con is that it messes up with the color yellow, a lot of times it says yellow is orange
