Nice new parts. This set has plenty of printed parts and one of the new 2x4x2 semicircle panels in purple. I'm excited about using the new panel to build a Galactus mega figure similar to the Giant (Ant) Man figure in the Super Hero Airport Battle set.
The Lex Luthor figure is well done, but I would prefer his armor to be in regular green rather than lime green. Same with his mech parts, I would have preferred the designers to stick with the green/purple/gray palette in the "grown up" Luthor mech and not incorporate the lime green.
The light blue Batman uniform is also new for me.

Good for the minifiguresThe good things about the Juniors sets are that they have the same minifigures as the normal LEGO sets, and the bricks are interchangeable with normal LEGOs. In this case, we have an early Batman and an early Superman along with a Lex Luthor that used to be part of a special promotion. This was the key selling point for me. Putting together Luthor's battle-mech was enjoyable. Batman's Batmobile came in second. Superman's "catapult" was the weakest of them all, and Batman's little "outpost" with the bat-phone and the "disc launcher" seemed more of a waste. Then again, I had to remind myself that this is really designed for the kids.

Good for older kids with lagging fine motor skillsMy son (12) has cerebral palsy but wants to build lego like everyone else. Lego is great for his fine motor skills development but it can be hard. The lego juniors allows him to do some work but have a nice finished product he can play with. He finds it really rewarding and plays with it over and over again. It also encourages him to do more building with the regular lego.

Difficult to assembleI bought this toy for my son who just turned 5. It took us awhile to put the small parts together. The box said 4-7 year old, this product is more for 6 year old than a 4 or 5 year old child. I thought lego jr was a step up from the duplo but easier to assemble that regular legos. The pieces are smaller than regular lego.

I would definitely order through Toys R Us again. This is a Christmas gift for my grandson so it has yet to be opened in order to give a review of the product. As far as giving a review of buying the product through Toys R Us, I can say that my experience was excellent. It was an easy process from picking the product, placing the order and completing the transaction. I was informed when the order was shipped, it was easy to track the shipping and the product arrived when promised. it was nicely pack so as not to slide around in the box. All in all, I was completely satisfied with order on line through Toys R Us.

Great Lego SetMy son wanted a set with Lex Luther, Superman, and Batman. That is exactly what this set offers. The different components assembled easily befitting a Lego Junior set. I would say that my favorite detail of this set is Batman's grappling gun. So many Batman sets offer only the batarang. How interesting that a junior set manages to go the extra mile. The one thing I find unimpressive is Superman. His seesaw launcher seems to serve no purpose, and he has no other accessories. however, no one else seems to notice, so who am I to complain?

Gift for a 5 year oldI bought this as a gift for my 5 year old Goddaughter. It came with three separate bags, each with its own smaller building project. This was great because she felt accomplished when she finished each bag and it held her interest the entire time, yet allowed her to take a break from building between sets. The figures are adorable and there were lots of moving parts. It was enjoyed by 3 girls, each playing with their own piece of this set. I will be buying many more of these sets come Christmas.

A Good Starting SetMy daughter (4) picked this after I helped narrow the choices down. This was her first non-Duplo Lego set, although, she's been exposed to mini-figs and other random Lego parts in the past. She chose this set over a construction set because it had more minifigs.
Her manual dexterity wasn't quite to the task of putting many of the smaller pieces together since the alignment of bricks needs higher precision than Duplo. This led to some moments where attempting to add one brick would dismantle another part or would just require me to step in a do the final pressing of pieces together.
It took a bit to get her to follow the directions, but as we went further through the instructions, she was understanding the way things went together better. Having steps broken into small tasks (and numbered bags) worked well, especially spreading the minifig build through the rest of the instructions. Since the minifigs were initially her primary focus, having that spread out helped keep her focused on building the parts of the set.
We play with this set daily, mostly playing out various scenarios with the minifigs. Picking up and replacing the red phone in the "bat cave" inevitably leads to the back wall getting knocked off, but she's become fairly expert in repairing the structures and vehicles. The Bat disc shooting thing could've been left out. It's just asking for problems. We've change it just to be carousel for the minifigs, with the discs used as decoration elsewhere.
Unless you are meticulous about tracking all the small parts, they will get lost. We've lost some bits off of Lex's vehicle, but so far my daughter doesn't seem to mind.
Overall a far easier introduction to Legos than I had as a kid.
