Okay for the price, but be aware of what you're getting intoThis is a decent bike for a kid, but make sure that you either know how to fix up bikes or else hire someone that does. (Realistically this will likely hold true for any bike in this price range.) The weight is reasonable due to the fact that it has no suspension (which is mostly a gimmick at this price range anyway). It has V-brakes and alloy rims, which are nice. The crank arms are removable, which is somewhat rare at this price. On the downside, on the bike that I got: 1) All the bearings were too tight (headset, bottom bracket, and both wheels). This was fixable, but I used cone wrenches in three sizes, a bottom bracket wrench, a crank arm removal tool, large adjustable pliers, and a large Crescent wrench. 2) The frame was bent where the rear derailleur mounts, causing the derailleur to hang noticeably crooked and not shift properly. I was able to bend it back straight using a large Crescent wrench, at which point the gears shifted much more smoothly. 3) Likely because of the bent frame, the rear derailleur travel limit screws were way out of whack after I straightened everything. Easily fixable. 4) The brake pads needed adjusting, but this is probably to be expected. I was able to fix all the above, and now its a nice little bike. But it took some time to get it all sorted.
