Rewrite the end of "Return of the Jedi"Star Wars Risk (SWR) is not like the classic Risk games. The "Risk" term was probably used for brand recognition. Aside from that though this is a great game. SWR comes with a board which breaks up into a few pieces, a pile of plastic miniatures for ships, two decks of action cards for each side, a set of red 6-sided dice and a handful tokens to represent the rebels, death star, Millenium Falcon, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Players are battling in three fronts: 1) on the moon of Endor 2) in space 3) fighting between Darth Vader, Luke (and the Emperor) if the rebels can disable the shield generator on Endor and blow up the death star they win. The empire wins if they can eliminate all rebel ships. So in essence players are playing out the end of Return of the Jedi. Achieving certain goals such as defeating Luke, redeeming Darth Vader or destroying the Millenium Falcon will reward the appropriate side with some advantages. What I enjoy is the pacing of the game. It's fast things are always moving. You set your actions, roll some dice, and repeat. This isn't a deep strategic game but a quick 30 minute light experience. What I don't like is the quality of the board and cards. The center section of the board has a giant fold in the middle which takes away from it's look and also makes it hard to lay it perfectly flat. It would have been better if Hasbro had made it two pieces with an interlocking connection in the middle. The card stock is very thin and will crease easily unless you sleeve them. It would have been nice to have miniatures for Luke/Vader the Death Star and Millenium Falcon instead of cardboard tokens; the miniatures for some of those figures are in the Deluxe edition of the game. Overall it's very good for a Hasbro produced game.
