New and fresh !I must say this is a very nice new look for a X-Wing for the color scheme orange vs black ! There is a nice selection of minifigure and mainly all the printing on them. The build is very enjoyable, interesting and very sturdy to play with it ! The feature with four spring-loaded shooter divided on each wing make it very realistic to play with it, plus the two studs shooter represent the concusion missile and the transformation from passive formation to a attack formation is a very sleek action by turning only 90 degre a technic piece ! There is more to enjoy from this set for sure !
If you buy it, I hope you enjoy it has much has I do !

Perfect for any Star Wars fans.Being a fervent Star Wars fan, I always wanted to get into the Lego sets, sadly enough, I used to stumble all the time on very expensive builts. Now with ''Force Awakens'' out, this new wave has actually very decents prices and so I had to jump on the X-Wing. Glad I did.
While building it I threw myself back of 10 years, it was amazing. I marked it has ''challenging'' simply because I wasn't used to Legos anymore, but you know, it's like riding a bike. It was actually quite simple, with small technicalities that makes it even more interesting.
Just like my title says, I recommend it to any Star Wars lovers!
(I already ordered the Millenium Falcon! :D )

Not your Dad's X-wingSo to begin with, I've done many Star Wars Lego builds. This X-wing ranks up there with some of the most enjoyable builds I can remember. There were several neat little ways of doing things that were pleasantly unexpected. The whole time I'm building, I'm thinking about Dec. 18th and wondering what Poe and BB8's story is going to be! The only real negative I have with the set is the rubber band that is necessary for the attack formation function. I don't mind too much that's it's there, but Lego, why make a black and orange X-wing fighter and put blue bands for this feature?! It SCREAMS at you once it's finished. A helpful tip for those who will feel the same, I used some of the tiny rubber bands used for braces. My son has them in every color of the rainbow. I tried orange and it looked ok, but black really did the trick!! Anyway, great build...lot if fun and playability. Get it, you can't go wrong!

The best thing about lego, it can be changedFrom seeing this model for the very first time I knew I had to have it, X-Wings are simply the coolest fighters in the Universe, we all know that, what makes this ever better is the colour scheme, black and orange with a bit of shiny silver thrown in, and then you ramp it up to 11 with a tiny BB-8.
Even so, the biggest error in the model is clearly the wings, they overlap each other which is clearly incorrect as we have seen from the trailers that they have released, as such I have altered the model using just the parts that came with it and made it look much better(pics included)
Other than that the model looks smart and sleek, the figures are cool especially the yellow visors with the helmets, the flick missiles are a bit pointless though and it does detract from the overall look, they could have done away with them, used a few different pieces on the internal structure as you can't see them, but it seems to be the way nowadays that they do this to increase the number of pieces used as a way to justify charging more, doing away with the non essential pieces would have knocked the price down by £5-£10 but they won't as they will sell no matter what.

Good Model but flimsyA great model for young Lego Maniacs, but for those who look for a little more in their models, they may want to wait for a UCS.
My biggest complaint are the back engines, they do not fit well and a longer (3 stud) cross pole(?) would be a lot more appropriate for support, otherwise they fall out easy.
My other complaint is the way the wings spread, which looks like the same system since the 9493 X-Wing. There has to be a better way than elastics. Look at 75095 Shuttle Tyderium , it would be quite easy to use the same wing attachments and link the top right wing with the bottom left and vice versa, offering more stability and reliability.

As long as there's light we've got a chance! As soon as I saw The Force Awakens I fell in love with Poe Dameron and I knew I had to have him in LEGO form!! I got this set for my 18th birthday and is currently the largest LEGO Star Wars set I own and it is very impressive, I have always marveled at the X-wing sets and am very glad that I got this one of all the sets released. The set itself is quite large and not always possible to hold in just one hand; especially if you don't want to drop it! Because the model is quite weighty it can be difficult to play with, but that hardly makes a difference as it just kind of adds more realism. I think that compared to Poe's actual X-wing Black One this set is very movie accurate; the black and orange scheme looks perfect, the cockpit looks so cool opening and closing and the guns on each wing are very well designed. BB8 is also a wonderful addition to the set; he can be secured behind the cockpit so he won't fall out even if you try out a couple of spins ;) This set is definitely worth buying for the Poe and BB8 minifigures; Poe is so detailed his flightsuit and helmet look incredible and BB8 is great both in this set and when paired with the Rey's speeder set. The best part of the set is the folding and un-folding of the wings; a cleverly placed winch mechanism lifts the wings up or down with a single twist and they stay in position very firmly. I can't really get used to the new missile functions, but I understand that they are probably entertaining for younger builders as they do fire quite far! Overall I think this set is a triumph, it looks amazing as a display piece and is also so fun to play with. I loved the look and feel of it so much that I took it into the garden to really capture the essence of the model and figures (see pics).
If you love The Force Awakens, if you love Poe Dameron, if you love BB8, if you love Star Wars...then you will love this set.

Great Value, Stunning Figures, THE BUILD THOUGH...This set is just the right balance of nostalgic and new designs. I appreciate that we finally have an X-Wing based on the Ralph McQuarrie concept art from the 70's.
I could go on forever about the interesting design choices of this vehicle but what I really want to emphasize is the nature of the build. Building this set surprised me time and time again. The techniques are very different and satisfying. You really can't know how truly fun this is to build until you've done it yourself! whether you are a fan of Star Wars or LEGO in general, this set is so much fun!
The minifigures in this set are unbelievably well printed and the helmets very well sculpted. The inclusion of Poe Dameron and BB-8 is quite a draw and certainly adds to the value of the set a great deal.
-Play features are numerous and very fun
-Accessories included are small and subtle but make this feel more like a play-set rather than just a vehicle.
-The LEGO group didn't quite get the wings right as many have pointed out. This does not detract from the model however.
-Lots of stickers
This set is beautiful, it has great minifigures and it is so fun to build. This set is great for collectors and kids. The play value is what you'd expect from an X-Wing but that really isn't a negative!

I Can Fly Anything!X-Wings are probably some of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars universe and The Force Awakens continues the legacy of X-Wings although with a few differences.
Lego have done a brilliant job of capturing the new X-Wing design and I love the colour scheme of Poe's X-Wing. The build is fun, interesting and very similar to building an Original Trilogy X-Wing with the biggest differences being the new engine design and wing design. The wing design isn't quite movie accurate, and the cockpit isn't placed exactly right but these are minor issues. Just like any X-Wing the wings can unfold into attack position by turning a piece on the top behind the cockpit. Also behind the cockpit is a space for BB-8 - Poe's loyal and lovable droid. The finished model is very sleek and the included ladder and loader add great playability to this set.
The new minifigures are fantastic! Poe Dameron's minifigure is very movie accurate and the new Resistance pilot helmet is a brilliant design - the visor is now incorporated with the helmet rather than being printed on the minifigure's face. The other two minifigures - the Resistance Ground Crew and Resistance Pilot are both highly detailed. The pieces making up BB-8 are completely new and capture the exact look of the droid.
This is a fantastic model of a slightly re-desgined classic. My only issue is that the rubber bands used to control the opening and closing of the wings are blue which is a strange colour choice. Apart from that minor issue I think this is an awesome set and perfect for all Star Wars fans!
