There are three winning elements to this that my last ones didn't have: shoe guard, easy to buckle shaping and the lip around the edge that prevents spills from spreading. The shoe guard is the best though. Now that my son is getting bigger and getting in and out of the car with little to no assistance because of sports his sneakers are usually covered in something,dust, mud, etc. -- making keeping the front of his seat nearly impossible -- the front wrapping prevents the seats from getting ruined and is just a simple way of making your life easier. I drive a full size Toyota Camry and it fit perfect, my sons booster seat fits right into the grooves. My car has leather and clothed seats, I am happy that there is a product that protects the leather on the edges, his booster no longer leaves pressed in points on the leather which I feel will keep the seats lasting longer. This seat guardian also folds up and can be moved to another car if you happen to move car seats into multiple vehicles. The documentation that comes with the product describes the benefits of the product I will list them all then go over each one at a time. 1. More Grip, 2. Less Mess, 3. Hassle-free buckle access, 4. Keep it clean barrier, 5. Dirty shoe guard, 6. Easily folded, 7. Crash tested. More Grip - The grips are descent. They work okay on the leather in the minivan but work much better on the c loth seats in the car. Other seat protectors I have used in the past have used a flap that is pushed between the seat bottom and seat back to keep them in place. I am thinking that the extra flap may be a more effective method of keeping the seat protector in place but others may disagree. Less Mess - If a child spills food or drink on the guardian it will do its job and keep the seat clean. Of course my kids seem to miss it but the material is great and will prevent liquids from getting into the seat. Hassle-free buckle access. - I do find that my kids had no issues buckling the seat as this did not get in the way for buckle operation. This may vary based on the seat and it's width but both my cars had no issues with this. I am guessing if you have REALLY narrow seats this could be an issue. Keep it clean barrier - this seems a bit repetitive after the less mess, but again the fabric will not let liquids penetrate so it makes since for the manufacturer to drive this point home. Dirty shoe guard - The dirty shoe guard is great. When kids get in with muddy shoes instead of leaving mud on the front of the seat they leave it on the shoe guard which is much easier to clean than cloth seats and it really does not matter if it gets dirty. One thing worth mentioning is that on other similar products they have netting on this so you can store stuff in them. I was never a huge fan of the storage as it made it tougher for the child to get in the seat, but again this does not have that so wanted to point it out. Easily folded - Yes I agree with this. If this is a selling factor to you this is true and does just like the picture shows. It folds easily and compactly. Crash tested - This is one feature of the product I was unwilling to do. Based on how this should be used I would expect this to not affect safety in a crash. I suspect that this would be the equivalent of putting a towel on the seat when you are coming home from the pool. So the bottom line in my opinion is that this is a descent product. It does what it is designed to do. It will keep your seats clean if your child spills food or drinks on your seat. I honestly didn't feel like it did much. With a backless booster seat, there isn't much to protect the seats in your car from, so I felt this was kind of unnecessary. I really like how it holds the booster seat in place and keeps it from shifting around. Even with the weight of my child in the seat, it tends to move a bit, so it's nice that the seat guardian helps keep it in place. We haven't had any liquid spills, but the material seems like it would clean pretty easily with just a wipe down. It also folds up and stores easily.
