Munich 6 mo old uses it for outside splashing, I take it to the pool in the zero depth for her to sit, and even in the bathtub. It's sturdy and strong enough to hold her up and it's easy to shove in my stroller and move about. I even use it out of the water for her to sit since she's still falling over. Best summer buy!! The backrest does offer some assistance but It doesn't help your child from falling to the side. But once I got home and realized its more for a baby who can sit up and sit still, I came to the conclusion that my very active and crawly baby would probably not get great use out of the item. We wanted to get a little &quot;pool&quot; for her to play in, however all the little kiddy pools were too deep for her.
