Excellent bikeFormer independent bike mechanic here, just thought I would chime in and add some important details about this bike as well as endorse it. I just purchaced this for my son, and expected a good quality bike and it actually exceeded my expectations. I was surprised there is no mention it has an aluminum frame which I think is rare for a child's bike and would be a major selling feature. It won't rust and keeps the weight down significantly. The Crossfire weighs in at 22.2 lbs., seems to me most of the other bikes I looked at with a 16" wheel were around 30 lbs. All the sizing guidlenes you will read are very generalized, rider age and height are insignificant, it is the inseam which is critical. The 16" wheel crossfire will be good for a rider with a 20" or higher inseam. I was a little concerned about the front caliper brakes as they haven't made a decent adult bike with them for a good 20 years, but they were easy to adjust and will be more than adequate for a child's bike. It also has a rear coaster brake. Assembly should be a breeze for anyone. The paint job is sharp and my son loves it!
