The colours would catch his attention when we moved it about for him. Now at six months he loves gripping on to the tentacles, putting the rings in his moth and plating with the different textures. I hook it to my handbag strap so that i never forget to bring it, and then attach it to the pram so that it doesnt get lost. Its also great to dangle from the coat hook/handle in your car near your babies car seat so that they can see and explore it while you drive. It has interesting attachments and materials to engage babies sensory development, such as a mirror hidden underneath the tentacles, great for when its above babies head. Easy to keep clean. Very durable toy, will last years and years and survive lots of rough play without fraying or broken bits. It stays as new with regular washing. My 16 week old son loves playing with him, the tentecles have different textures &amp; noises &amp; he chews the teething rings to death. Lamaze toys are good quality &amp; brightly coloured. He's also got Logan the Lion whom he also loves. They loved it from the start. They seem to find the colours, textures and shapes fascinating and spend ages batting at it and sucking the ends of the tentacles.
