Thanks to the Angelcare AC403 Movement & Sound monitor, you get the peace of mind that your little one is sleeping safe and sound when you tuck your baby in and turn out the lights. This device has lots of extra features that will keep you reassured. The under-the-mattress Sensor Pad lets you know within 20 seconds if no movement is detected in the crib and the Nursery Unit sends all the sounds baby makes to your portable Parent Unit which even comes with an audio ''Tic'' option so you know its on and a vibration mode, so the alarm wont disrupt the precious quiet time.

LOVE this monitorWe had the same problem as L C S from Montreal, QC but we found the solution for the AC-401 that may also work for others - If you put the parent unit on 'hold' then shut the parent unit 'off' it will stop the reminder every minute. Plus it will also not sound when you pick you baby up for feeding or changing. Once you are back in your room just turn the unit on and take off hold. We have had this unit for 3yrs now and although it doesn't say it, we started reusing it for our pre-schooler. The 'sensor' alarm goes off if he tries to get back up to play after we leave the room (and once the inital beep sounds we can hear the little feet running back to his bed to stop the alarm sounding..) IF he sleepwalks I'm able to know and make sure he doesn't get hurt. Even in the mornings if he wakes up before I do, I can know he's up even and heading downstairs. Would say this has to be one of the best things we ever got as parents.

Overall a good monitorThis monitor has lots of features you can configure so it takes a while to set up but once set up it is fairly easy to use. This is my first baby monitor so I can't compare but I do like that it can sense the baby breathing - gives me peace of mind. And the sound detection sensitivity can be adjusted so I don't hear every grunt. The main thing I don't like is the hold functionality. The parent unit beeps every minute to remind you it is on hold. If I put it on hold to go feed in the middle of the night, the beep disturbs my husband who is still in bed. There doesn't seem to be an easy way around this. You either need to turn off the parent unit and the baby unit or put it on hold then turn off parent unit. Wish it had an option to set the first hold reminder at 15 or 20minutes or to turn off the hold reminder. The only other problem I have is the parent unit has a slim base and tends to fall over if I bump the table too hard.
