Mountain bikes are popular, perhaps owing to the Alps (that was meant to be ironic), but I don't know too many 6-9 year olds that need 21 gears, front and rear shocks, crazy frame designs... or a bike they'll outgrow fast with a price starting around 250 euros (over $300 US). Even though the Toys R Us (in Innsbruck) had bikes that were not priced as affordably as in the US, I felt we did okay. I'm handy, so assembling the handlebars, hanging the pedals, setting the seat post was a 15 min job. The tools were included. Also, it gave me a chance to check it over. The rear brake restricted wheel travel, as it was set too tight, a fairly easy fix since they were just like the brakes on my own BMX bike back in the day. Simple and sturdy, can't speak to the longevity of the bike or the components, yet. But I feel a check-up every 6 months or so, which should be expected, will keep it rolling for 5 years, easy.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2013-05-03</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2013-05-03" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758786"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">3</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Paul</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">The good and the bad</span> <span itemprop="description">It's a good bicycle and my son loves it.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2013-02-10</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2013-02-10" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758785"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Karen</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Bike is wonderful for the price....</span> <span itemprop="description">I purchase this bike for my 8 year old grandson and it made him very happy. The price is just right but I expected the components to at least be on par with it's great looks. First the rear brake has got that shoddy feeling, it feels cheap. The rear V brake I found out that it actually is impeding the free wheeling of the bike, in short, it is clamping on the wheel without the levers being pressed. Tried to adjust it but all my efforts went for naught. Will buy a better brake I think to remedy this problem. Apart from the rear brake, the bike looks good...as you get a cheap bike, so are the parts. Nearly gave my dad a heart attack. Now this bike, over 30 years later, at first glance less than $90 was a great deal. Well, when I started to assemble it, I found some flaws. First, the chain guard needed some adjustment to prevent it from hitting the pedal. Then I had to straighten the forks(spread them about 14mm). Once I installed the brake cables and tested them, they didn't stop all that great. Kinda frightening on a busy street. Maybe they need to be seasoned? I plan to install a braking hub for the rear since my son isn't into freestyle at the moment. Plus he's into skidding the rear wheels more still.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2011-12-11</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2011-12-11" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758779"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">red</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">cool</span> <span itemprop="description">its cool and comfortable and the price is great.I just hope it stays that way.</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2011-09-21</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2011-09-21" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758778"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">2</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">juju bee</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">[...]</span> <span itemprop="description">[...]</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2011-09-13</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2011-09-13" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758777"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">3</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">brandon</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">rear wheel</span> <span itemprop="description">i use my avigo for free style riding and a little racing every now and then but no matter how propperly i tighten the back wheel the nuts come loose the wheel moves forward and the chain falls off not good for the middle of a trick or anything where the chain is really needed... almost all biking its good for the first month to a year</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2011-08-12</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2011-08-12" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758776"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">jhonny angel</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">asome</span> <span itemprop="description">best bike I have ever riden</span> <div class="bvseo-pubdate">Date published: 2011-08-03</div> <meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2011-08-03" /> </div> <div class="bvseo-review" itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Review" data-reviewid="86758775"> <span itemprop="reviewRating" itemscope itemtype="https://schema.org/Rating"> Rated <span itemprop="ratingValue">5</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span> </span> by <span itemprop="author" itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" itemscope><span itemprop="name">Chase the Racer</span></span> from <span itemprop="name">Great Overall Bike :D</span> <span itemprop="description">I use this bike for street riding, and it is much more easier on this then my old bike. They did not seem to worry but more to get me out of there. I told them as it seemed to be &quot;not good feeling&quot; could I get another bike and they said no. The same day I watched my child ride away and down the street he stopped.. He walked back and again a small flap on the plastic guard had been bent by the pedal (stem). My previous experience was not satisfying so I just cut the small plastic that caused the problem off. While it is not right.. it works..
