Easy to useThis ear thermometer works great with my 18 month old! I find that it's hard to get an accurate underarm temperature with a regular thermometer from him now that he's older and squirms more. On the other hand, this thermometer takes his temperature within seconds so he has no time to pull away. It's very quick and easy to use. I generally try to take two temperature readings from each ear to ensure that it's correct.

OK for children 2+ years oldWe bought this for our infant/newborn son when he was 'sick' (or so we thought). There were 2 occasions when this thermometer indicated that our baby was running a fever when infact he wasn't. We rushed to the ER once and waited for the pediatrician the second time. Every doctor we have spoken to since our baby was born has mentioned that the ONLY way to get an accurate temperature is to use a rec tal thermometer. If you are planning on using this for a newborn or infant under the age of 2 years old, then just buy the cheap digital thermometer from any drugstore rather than waste your money on this device. Also, the temperature is off by up to 2-degree's so it's hard to get an accurate reading.

decent productSeems to work well. I like that it has a frown face to indicate fever.
