Put Duke on his bike in many different positions, pull back and lock him into the launcher and then press the lever down and off he goes. The bike balances quite well and he only seems to tip when crashing into walls or rogue toys. Well worth it - I think I might be more into him than the kids! As soon as he noticed I had Duke Caboom, he snatched it out of my hand screaming, ready to play. Using the launcher will send Duke Caboom racing across the floor for up to 15 feet, very quickly. This toy is very easy to use and will keep your childs attention for a long time. I love that Duke stays on the bike without falling off and you can position him to your liking. Our toddler enjoys pushing around the motorcycle and likes it when we wind it up and shoot it off using the launcher. Our preschooler will wind the bike up and use the launcher, along with posing Duke Caboom in different ways. We as parents even enjoy playing with this toy; it's fun to wind up and launch and it hearkens back to a time of simpler toys that still provided fun and entertainment. The toy seems well-made although there is the question of how long the winding mechanism will hold up with regular use or in the hands of a toddler who doesn't understand when it's fully wound. However, they were really disappointed with the way it comes out of the base. First of all, you definitely have to use it on hard wood or tile only. Carpet will not work. It also was really difficult for them to do on their own. They could pull back ok to &quot;rev&quot; it up, but then getting it into the base was a little harder to figure out. Eventually, they got it going ok and enjoyed seeing Duke crash into things as he raced across the floor. It was much easier to just use it without the base, pull back and let him fly. I think they had the most fun configuring his body all sorts of ways so he could look funny driving. We also tried sending him down a ramp, or off a box, but sadly, neither worked well Gravity took over immediately and down he fell. So it was a mixed bag. He loved the character and that he's posable so he can make him do a lot of cool tricks. Unfortunately, it's tricky to get Duke onto his launcher without letting the tension out so we haven't had much luck with launching him. He also seems to have to build up momentum to go fast so you need a large area if that's what your kid is going for.
