We were excited that Family Rated allowed us to try the Air Hogs Supernova for free. We watched the videos and read the instructions several times. Advice: don't show your children the product until after you charge it because it takes a long time to charge. The drone makes an annoying loud sound. I know most drones do but, when you play with them outside, it's not so bothersome. This toy is intended for indoor use only, so the sound was too loud even for me. I could see my youngest (5 year old) was a little concerned at first but, surprisingly, he got over it and wanted to try playing with it. We did everything the video and instructions said to do. We didn't have a super fun experience with it as others that have tried it did. It was rather difficult to navigate and to get it to stay within our hands like the on the video. It seemed rather delicate and definitely had a mind of it's own. After a while, everyone was just not so interested anymore as we got tired of trying to &quot;get it to work&quot; as it was supposed to. We are a family of five and my kids ages are 11, 8, and 5. We are completely thankful that we were able to try this product. My entire family enjoyed playing with the AIR HOGS SUPERNOVA. I did receive this toy for free to try out and review but since then I have bought 2 others for family and friends. We had so much fun learning and playing with this drone. Unlike most drones you don't have a controller or use your phone to control the drone. You actually use your own hand motions to manipulate the directions of the drone. I think this adds to the fun so much more. My son had no problems learning how to play with it. He picked it up immediately. It did take a long time to charge initially but didn't take as long for any charges after that. We played with the toy for about 10 minutes before we had to recharge but it has been a favorite toy in the house for several weeks now. Unlike most drones this one is super sturdy and doesn't break every single time it bumps into something. It is so much more durable than most drones. My son usually breaks everything he plays with but this drone is still working and in great condition! Once we received it, they waited, somewhat impatiently, for it to charge. Once charged, we all gathered around to watch my 9 year old son try it. And we were pretty disappointed. We could not get it to stay at the right height, even after &ldquo;trimming&rdquo; it like th video states, it keep going to the ceiling. After fighting with it for 5 minutes it died, so we put it back on charge. Once it was done, we decided to give it another try. This time was better. It stayed low enough for the kiddos to try a few tricks. They did get it to do a couple different ones, but alas, it shot up to the ceiling again. The next few attempts were the same. We read the instructions and watched a quick video to learn several hand gestures to make the orb do different tricks. It is a bit of a learning curb so we started off by flying the orb indoors to keep it contained and easier to locate. The orb has a flight time of about 5-7 mins on a full charge. We let it charge for about an hour between flights. We really had fun chasing this flying orb around and making it do cool tricks. It was great family fun. My family has become somewhat obsessed with flying devices so when we received this AirHog you control with your hands we couldn't wait to fly it. I have girls and boys and it was great for them both but keep in mind the flying time is only around 10 minutes per charge. Flying this with your hands is a lot of fun. It has 4 sensors around it and 1 sensor underneath that registers your hands movements. So besides going up, down, left, and right you can do tricks with it. I'm not that good yet but did notice with a simple move of both hands the light blinks blue and your now in trick mode. I think I've gotten it to do a few tricks but only on luck. I actually prefer using my hands to fly things but the sensors on this definitely need a revamp. It worked really well but after a few uses one of the sensor covers came off. I snapped it back in but it seems to fly weird sometimes. It's a really cool toy and comes with extra blades if you lose any. Another thing I do not care for is you do not get much play time. Usually about ten minutes or so. Then you have to recharge. Every member of the family enjoyed this, including the 7 month old, he tried to follow it where ever it went. The other children's ages age 4, 9 and 12. It worked much better indoors than out. The directions were very easy to understand and getting it to do tricks was easy for everyone. My 4 year old autistic child gets the most enjoyment out of it I believe and he usually will just sit and watch but he was actively playing with it and asks for it daily. Sadly this toy has not worked correctly from out of the box. The first time this was let out of the box the orb took off flying and hit off the ceiling and went into tailspin flying everywhere. The charge is very little and regardless of how long it stays on the charger and even saying it is fully charged the toy does not go longer then 10-15 minutes per play. The sensors on the orb does not work. I have three boys, so anything regarding technology and vehicles you know is going to be a hit! My 5 year old and 9 year old played with this toy for days, quickly charging it as soon as the battery would run out. There was some difficulty trying to figure out how to make it hover and not fly out of their hands, but once they got the hang of it there were no issues. Very well made and seemed pretty indestructible. My son was so excited to try the flying orb. I had no idea it was going to be so lightweight! The orb charges very fast which is great for impatient/excited kids. We first tried it in our living room and were struggling to control it. Figured out that we were standing in front of the ac vents so the air was pushing on it too much. Moved to a bedroom and voila! It was so much fun to use and kept my son occupied. He uses it every day and loves it. Firstly I love the cool drone design with propeller fans .The construction is well made with bouncy ball shaped bumpers that protects the central unit if the drone drops or bumps .the package comes with extra fan blades and charhing cable.The amazing part is controlling with hands..the sensors are well build with great sensitivity capturing the motion of hands,the videos had instructions on how to use tricks on super nova made me master to handle this little adventure. Abacad dabra magic happens with the twirl of hands..lol.overall am super impressed with Air Hogs Super nova .my boys loved it so much .
