Next to build a bear, I highly recommend this toy. You buy based on colour (pink or blue at that time) and you don't know if it's a bunny, cat or dog. The child 'adopts' this scruffy mystery and it literally is a stiff ball with eyes when you open it. They wash it, brush it and rinse to reveal what type of animal it is. Took about 20 mins to wash and 30 or so to dry (with a hair dryer). 2x 9 year olds helped her and all 3 were enthralled with figuring out what it was and styling the hair etc. It doesn't have a lot of stuffing in it and it still looks scruffy but she carries it around and has taken it to school etc (bonus, it squishes into the school bag nicely). This is one of the coolest ones we've ever bought, and I'm so glad that we did. It's a mystery which animal you get, so that was a great selling point too. It came wrapped in a little ball, so you don't know which one you have until you give it a bath. You soak it in water until it opens up, and then the animal is finally revealed. We got the kitty! It comes with a little brush to brush out the hair while it dries. And also comes with a birth certificate and a collar. Adorable! I would recommend this to any young child.
