<span itemprop="description">This monitor is garbage. The picture is grainy. It’s hard to mount so that you can see baby appropriately. I have used it at my camper and it def. does not have 1000 foot range. I can barely get few hundred feet. Not that I want to go far from my baby but I can barely get to next camp site. Lastly and most upsetting is the poor battery on the parent unit. I can’t get a night out of it and I turn the screen off. Last night was my baby’s first night in her crib. When I went to bed the battery was full. I woke up at 5am and the parent unit was off because the battery died. No warning nothing just dead. So I dunno how long it was dead. I was so upset because I was afraid I missed responding to my baby if she cried out. Now her room is next to us and I’m sure we would have heard her if she was crying out but still very upsetting and now I have zero trust in the monitor. So basically money was thrown down the drain with this monitor. I highly reccomend to not east your money on this monitor.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We purchased this after reading reviews and thought it would be fine at the time. We didn't use it right away because our baby was still in our room at night but once installed in our nursery (and past the 45 day return policy) we have come to realize that this monitor has the worst night vision. We can't even see our baby in his crib because its so grainy and that is the whole point of having a video monitor in the first place. Do not buy this monitor if you need to see your baby. We've also had problems with the parent unit not turning on but once we called v tech they put us through a "reset" that got the unit working again.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought a VTech pan and tilt monitor and it broke just after a year. I bought a new one since I liked the first, and this one also broke down just after a year. After just over a year of use, both would not find a signal. This one won't even pick up a signal if it's right next to the camera. It's a nice monitor, but only if you're planning on using it for short term.
Another complaint I have about this brand, is they change the unit up completely every year, so if you have a second child and want to buy an additional camera, they change the models so frequently, that you need to buy an entirely new set if you want an additional camera. Again, great for short term, but if you plan on having additional kids, or if you're buying this monitor for use past one year, invest in a different brand.</span>

I plugged it in and the unit still won’t turn on, even after letting it “charge” for over an hour! The battery indicator remains red and the unit holds no charge. We have only used this monitor for one month. Saw only good reviews before choosing this monitor so very disappointed.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Pan and tilt is great. The fact that it comes with a secondary wide angle lens as opposed to having to purchase it separately is a huge advantage. Got this for the basement play room so able to see large area. Only thing is, with a large area to view, pixels are showing and not AS clear but comes with the large viewing, non-wifi territory I guess.</span>

Yes, theTech VM5261 - 5 Pan &amp; Tilt Video Monitor with Wide Angle Lens and Standard Lens has night vision feature. The baby unit has infrared LEDs that allow you to see your baby clearly at night or in a dark room. When the baby unit being viewed detects low light levels, the infrared LEDs are switched on automatically. The images from this baby unit are in black and white, and appears on screen.

VTech VM5261 - 5 Pan &amp; Tilt Video Monitor with Wide Angle Lens and Standard Lens has a Sound-activated Screen - When the baby unit is being viewed detects no sound, the parent unit screen stays off to save power. Once a sound is detected, the parent unit screen turns on automatically. It will then turn off again after 50 seconds of no sound detection. If you would like to keep the screen on set the sound sensitivity to the highest setting, or lullaby is playing, the parent unit screen may remain on continuously even though sound activation is on. This depends on whether the baby unit detects any sounds.
