<span itemprop="description">I've had a Vtech monitor in the past and loved it so i thought getting another with a larger screen was a good idea. It wasn't. Things I don't like about it:
- the screen is big but the resolution is low
- the zoom button is useless, there is one zoom in option and it doesn't even get that close (my last one i could zoom in so close i could see my LO breathing)
- the light on the screen doesn't go off unless you hold the power bar manually everytime which is super annoying at night
- the lights at the top (green and red) are VERY bright for nighttime
- everytime you turn it on or change a setting there is a loud beep
- everytime you plug it in, it turns on... if i wanted it on, i'd do it myself
- the battery life isnt great, i can't get through a day of naps without charging it
- the pan and tilt buttons are finicky when the camera is fastened to a wall (seems to work a bit better when on a hard surface)
Overall do not recommend.</span>

Yes, the VM5251 has Highest High Medium Low Lowest setting. Adjust the sound sensitivity of the baby unit You can choose to hear sounds from the baby unit all the time, or to hear sounds that exceed a certain level. You can use the parent unit to adjust the microphone sensitivity of your baby unit. The higher the sensitivity level, the more sensitive the baby unit is in detecting sounds for transmitting to the parent unit. The VOX sensitivity level is preset to HIGHEST.

Yes - we have a white noise machine in the room that the monitor tunes out. &nbsp;The parent unit only relays noise from the room when it differs from the typical (door slam, baby crying, loud dog, etc) and stops relaying noise a few seconds after the occurance, unless it happens again.
