Me and my daughter both set it up and it was very easy to assemble as the instructions were clear and precise. Unfortunately my daughter is aged 5 so lost interest quickly as i would say the product is aimed for ages 2-4. His friend has one and he has been begging for his own. He helped put it together and the launcher didn't seem to work. I went online and read other reviews and figured out the problem. The instructions can be improved. They are mostly only pictures, so it wasn't clear of the lever position. I read 3 other reviews that had the same problem, so this begs for an improvement area. My husband thinks the instructions should explain how the launcher assembly works. We are so thankful that your reviewers explained the problem and how to correct it. The launcher we have seems to be defective. It works some of the time, but not always. But it is a great toy for little ones! Probably this happens with plastic toys. He loves that the mini train can be ejected in any direction so if he wanted to launch it off his play table, he could (and does!) it comes with one mini train but I recommend buying a few more so that your child can load them in and launch many at a time. The only time he gets frustrated is when the trains get stuck in the launcher because they were loaded wrong or upside down, usually due to his little sister playing with it too. The roof comes off for easy removal when jammed. My 3 year old son was very excited as soon as he saw the box. He started playing with the launcher and tube track parts before I could get it set up. He takes it apart and still likes to play with them seperately. The whole set is easy to set up and take apart. It is a nice size, and doesn&rsquo;t take up too much room. Loading the trains and launching them is sometimes hard for my son to do, and can cause some frustration. We had one of the older Thomas mini towers, with the elevator that you crank by hand, and this is a nice addition to the Thomas Minis collection. The kids are very happy with all of the options to play with on this set. They like launchers of any kind and this is no exception. The loop is really fun to use. The orange tube is fun, but the trains don't always make it around - it depends on how well you launch them. Overall launching is easy for the kids, but sometimes they incorrectly align the launcher and the train doesn't get quite the velocity it needs. They're still very happy, but that's the reason I'm deducting a star. Overall, it's a fun toy, especially with limited space, and would make a good gift. My son loved putting the train in the tunnel then launching it. The trains are pretty tiny. I like that you can store them on top of the loop. However after about 20 minutes my son figured it out. The instructions were not clear in stating that the orange spring lever is supposed to be behind the green spring lever. I thought it was broken but realized that I had not installed it correctly. A wide flat head screwdriver needed to be used to pry the launcher off. Once corrected, both of my kids had fun launching the trains through the different pathways. I even purchased additional minis since the set only comessage with Thomas. Another issue that I encountered was trains becoming stuck inside the launcher. The screwdriver came out again and when I pryed off the launcher a second time, diesel 10 must have really been lodged in as the rear connector was severely bent (see pic).
