Second, the front brake was completely misaligned. The hole which holds the brakes main bolt was drilled 30 degrees off center. The Toys R Us assembly team did try to rotate the brake pads in a way they would still make contact with the rim (barely) but seeing as they didn't reject it, I'd imagine most if not all come like this. I ended up fixing this by taking off and bending the spring clip and brake calipers to counter-act the offset. Works well now. Lastly the brakes were not installed correctly. The spacing between rim and brake pad was enormous (adjusted by changing the position the brake cable clamped to the bike caliper). Also, one brake pad would always rub against the rim on both the front and rear. This is fixed by adjusting the rotation of the caliper spring clip holder. This requires using a thin 13 mm wrench on the spring clip holder while tightening the 10 mm nut on the opposite side of the frame. The front brake is easily adjusted but the rear spring clip holder does not provide access for a standard thin wrench without completely disassembling the brake pad or tire, after which you are left with no frame of reference to set the rotation correctly. I ground a right angle 13 mm wrench into a piece of 1/8&quot; mild steel bar to be able to set the rear brakes correctly. After all this, the bike is in ride-able condition. The blue metallic colour is amazing- he loves to show everyone his new bike! Even neighbours lol! It was a quick transition from having pedal brakes to only having hand brakes, but he got the hang of it within 10 minutes. Size was great. He's on the taller size for a 6 year old and there's still room to grow on this bike- probably until he's around 8, I'd imagine. LOVE that it comes with a built in kick stand. Other accessories need to be added manually (bell, water bottle holder, etc). Delivery was within 3 days from Belleville to Peterborough thru Purolator with tracking updates the whole time.
