<span itemprop="description">If you've been considering this rex for your collection, it's a great addition. The rex can be a little challenging to play with and get to do exactly what you want it to do, but kids should figure out how to activate all the features with a bit of play. If not, Mattel included instructions in the base of the box. This rex is screwed into the base, and will need adult or big kid help to release the feet without damage. Unlike the newer bite and fight t-rex, this model has no buttons to push in that can scrape up fingers.
The bite on the rex is not super strong, and it doesn't take much to eject figures by tossing and throwing them. Unlike some of the smaller biting dinos, the jaw lines up perfectly on this one. The bite is a bit small to throw most of the action figure sized dinos, but it does close nicely around their many parts. Humans and the smaller dinos included with them don't stand a chance, though!
The legs are of an odd design, they click into two different poses. This is the part I'm most concerned about breaking, but the toy seems fairly durable.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We have had the Thrash and Throw T-Rex for about a month now. My 5yr old son loves it. He particularly likes the fact that it roars when it opens its mouth and makes a noise as it walks. It seems fairly robust and the suggested age of play is about right at 4yrs+. It is also a good size at approx 22 X 50cm at maximum points. We have found that it takes a bit of practice to get it to stand up without falling over but otherwise a lovely toy for any dinosaur lover.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Almost every kid loves a dinosaur & none more than the mighty T-Rex, the terrifying dinosaur that shook the ground whenever it appeared in the Jurassic Parkk, and now the Jurassic World movies, and I found it was no exception with my son!
In terms of it's appearance I was impressed with both the size of the model (measuring approximately twenty two inches in length), the extremely realistic sculpting; from the scales on the dinosaur to the beady eyes filled with intent, teeth, and the detail inside of the mouth – ligaments and tongue that made it seem even more realistic & scary. It's quite well painted as well, with shading around the face and eyes to make it look more like the real thing. To be fair, it's probably the most realistic toy I've seen so far and I liked the fact that the T-Rex was jointed in such a way that you can not only pose the dinosaur but also move sections like the tail to cause the dinosaur to shake its head from side to side and open its mouth with a fearsome roar, and allows it to open and close the mouth to pick and then fling them across the room.
On top of the roar, there is a small button on the feet so that the T-Rex makes a great stomping sound to imitate the sound of its feet crashing on the ground, something my seemed to enjoy immensely as he stomped the dinosaur around the house and made it roar, and thrash its head around. However, being only four; it took him a while to work out how to move the tail to make the head go up and down and side to side so that he make the T-Rex pick things up and throw them about – but I guess part of the fun is that I could play with my son as we both worked out how to do it.
My only criticism, and it's a very minor one; is that the toy didn't come with anything/accessories to thrash 'n' throw – it is a shame it didn't come with a little velociraptor included for that reason, or to recreate the classic scene from the franchise. However, it's not a major issue as there are a number of other models in the range at quite reasonable prices. Regardless; it's extremely playable and very sturdy - and my son hasn't put it down since we got it but if you are buying this for your child I'd perhaps suggest getting one of the Mattel attack pack figures or even one of the bigger ones like the Indoraptor or the Mosasaurus. That being said, it is an amazing looking toy – it looks and feels like a scale model of the 'real' thing and as mentioned, the attention to detail and proportion is great – I studied palaeontology and it's pretty much what I'd expect one to look like!
This is a superb toy and I would recommend it, though perhaps not on the occasion when, in the very early hours of the morning, my son used it to literally scare me out of bed. It's great value and great fun. I just wish they'd had stuff like this when I was a kid.</span>

It delivered on everything the box said and he has been playing with it ever since. He has smaller plastic dinosaurs and immediately grabbed them to join in the game. He was fascinated with the gaping mouth and throw feature, pushing the button on the foot was also an absolute hit. It is the perfect size for him. <span itemprop="description">I got this for my 5 year old boy. Even in the packaging it is realistic and my son was keen to get it out to play.
Once out its large enough for a 5 year old to hold and it's appearance is realistic. It is a plastic design body so is hard and textured and although realistic it would be useful if it was a softer material, e.g. rubber or latex based to add to its realism. T-Rex's front paws are of a more flexible rubber/latex type material and I think this would have worked better for the whole toy.
You can move the tail up and down which then impacts on the head movement up and down, mouth opening and side to side 'thrash' of T-Rex. As you push down on the tail T-Rex roars once.
My little boy likes this, however quickly became bored of it. I think if there was something that allowed T-Rex to walk mechanically that would be good too. If you have imaginative children that are good at creating scenarios they may enjoy it more.
Overall I thought it was quite expensive for what it was, but for dinosaur, Jurassic Park fans they may have more entertainment. If you had more similar toys it may work better than one in isolation as you can then 'play dinosaur's fighting' rather than your other child's Barbie as the unfortunate victim!</span>

It makes stomping noises when you move it along the ground and it roars! The chomping action is pretty fun too since she can pretend tht a mighty t-rex is loose in her "dino park". It's easy to play with and control. The toy feels sturdy and the tail (where to control the movements) is very easy to push and pull up and down.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought this item online as a birthday gift for a special kid after going through lot of good reviews. Unfortunately Mattel delivered a defective piece. The tail movement upward/downward doesn't make the toy perform the expected movements of opening the jaw or even thrash and throw. Extremely disappointed, as I have to purchase again somewhere else to gift on his birthday.</span>

When you move the tail up and down to causes the head to move and bite. It's even move fun when you have things for the dino to bite. My only suggestion would be to make him a bit more stable in the standing position.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Both of my children have loved playing with the Jurassic World Thrash 'n Throw Tyrannosaurus Rex Figure! The great thing about this toy is that it is usable as soon as it is taken out of the packaging (no worrying about putting anything together). My children thought it was easy to use and "figure out". Their favorite part about the toy is the ability to "chomp" on other smaller dinosaur figurines. The T-Rex has proved to be a very durable toy. The dinosaur has "battled" with other toys and even the ground, all the while never sustaining any damages to the plastic or the coloring. My children have absolutely loved this toy and the durability has made me love it as well!</span>
