From the pictures I thought it would be like a hammock where it would cradle him and keep him a little elevated from the bottom of the basinett. Also the weight restrictions gave this impression. I was wrong. It doesn't really do much other than make the inside a little bit smaller so unsure why it has it's own weight restrictions. Didn't do anything for him willing to asleep in the basinett. Tried paring it with the love me sleep swaddle and that did the trick ( knock wood) I think the big difference is the amazing swaddle but maybe it's both that allow him to feel more secure. Don't feel the insert is worth the money. It's a net with a few plastic hooks.
