We loved the fact it connected to our phones and we used the lights when our daughter would wake up for feeding through the night. What we did not know at the time was our daughter is Autistic. Now we use the sleep stages. It has saved our lives to get her to lay down. The stages give her visual and sound triggers to know when we are going to read a book, when we are going to rock and when we are going to lay her down in her bed. She lets us leave without a meltdown.</span>

It was possible it was a connection between the app and product however we’ve deleted the app re installed it and the sounds still won’t work. Buybuybaby wont return it bc we no longer have the box. We have trouble shooted it a million ways nothing works. It only is good for the nightlight. Very disappointed in the product and the app. I do not recommend to buy at all if you wanted to use mainly as a sound machine.</span>

The additional features will be useful for our next baby, due in a few months, assuming our toddler outgrows it. It does take a long time to connect to the app though, rendering that feature essentially useless unless we want to take ten extra minutes to set up ahead of time.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We bought the soother 6 months ago and were delighted with it as we could modify the lights and sounds without having to enter the baby’s room. But then, without warning, we were no longer able to connect to the device as pressing the power button for 5 seconds became an impossible task. Instead of doing what it was supposed to do (cycle lights and connect to phone) it would quickly cycle power on and off causing an annoying on/off sound and never connecting. Now 2 months later and hundreds of attempts later I have given up and only use one of the functions that could have been done with a much more inexpensive piece of equipment.</span>

<span itemprop="description">My husband tells everyone how much sleep this thing has saved us. We bought a Hatch Baby first. The Hatch Baby music sounded like it was being played in a tin can and the same song would play on repeat on a 30 second loop. It was torturous. We returned it and purchased this.
The buttons on the machine itself can be difficult to operate. Because of this, I don't actually ever touch the buttons. I only use the app. I hope they will update some things on the app eventually - only one person can be connected at a time. However, the app works great - and it will work better the closer you are. Our bedroom is across the hall from our baby's room and it works well. In the middle of the night if our baby wakes and has trouble settling, we turn the music on before going in the room - and almost every time it helps her settle back to sleep. We so rarely have to go in her room at night that when we do have to go in we are assessing her for signs of illness or teething.
The app functions well and also offers music on the go - so awesome to play lullabies in the car when the baby gets restless, or at the doctor's office to settle your child. People will comment on the lullabies and how sweet and well behaved my infant is. I grin and say, yes, I think we can all prefer lullabies to screaming!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I got this about 8 months ago. Honestly, with the app it was the best thing ever! I could switch from multicolored stars to just red stars so it was easy to see yet wouldn't awake babe. It was sooo convenient to adjust settings via bluetooth. Then our world came crashing down when the app did. The deluxe soother does not have as many options on the lamp itself. I very much miss using the bluetooth app, after all it was most of the appeal. Of the app works I would recommend but if it doesn't I think money may be better spent elsewhere.</span>

An internet connection is required for the initial sign-in (or creation of the Mattel Login). In addition to that, you must be connected to the internet on their mobile device the first time they pair a Smart Connect product with the app. Though the pairing is being done via Bluetooth LE, the internet connection is still needed for the initial pairing of each individual Smart Connect product. After pairing is complete, the app will only rely on Bluetooth LE for communication with the Smart Connect products. The only time the internet connection would be required again would be if you tap to view the Mattel Privacy Statement OR if you opt to contact us via the in-app support.
