However, I would not say it is for an 18 month old. It is a bit larger than its original red counterpart and my son was not able to move it himself as his legs were much too short at 2-3 years. It has a footboard which is nice, so you can push the littles without their feet getting stuck but my son was upset he couldn&rsquo;t do it himself. It is also very uncomfortable to push. This is a safety issue. Toys R Us would not let us exchange it because we didn't have the original box. So now we are out $130 with a DEFECTIVE product. Try explaining to a 3 year old that they can't use their birthday present. We couldn't get him out of it. It took very little time to assemble thanks to the clear instructions. The only drawback is the fit of some pieces. In our case, the fit of the door prevents the optional lock from keeping the door closed. As a result our grandson can easily push the door open when he's inside. To keep him safe we had to improvise by putting the lock on the outside of the door.
