Unfortunately it did not work for us. My baby only takes a bottle occasionally and doesn't like a soother. Often she will struggle with the speed of bottles so thought she would have more control with this style. He struggled to get the milk out and what he did get out landed on his chest since it came out too fast. I love that it mimics breastfeeding which was wonderful when you aren't producing enough milk on your own. I made my most recent purchase to prepare for the birth of my second child. We were so impressed the first time around that we intend to exclusively use this product the second time around. Cleaning takes a little longer then with a traditional nipple because there are three parts to each nipple and you have to be careful not to puncture the membrane. One of the claims of this product is that it lowers the chances of ear infections. Our 2 year old has yet to experience his first ear infection. In the hospital I was getting a good latch but my milk didn't come in until day 4 so we supplementing in the hospital with the bottles and nipples they provided. After that I started having latching problems. I switched to this nipple and I think it helped him latch better for breastfeeding. I breastfeed and then give formula to supplement and I use this bottle for the formula and I have had no problems. My husband also gives formula if I'm away. There are also no problems if we give formula and then I decide to give him the breast right afterwards. I would highly recommend this product and plan on buying for future moms at baby showers. My only recommendation is to be careful while washing. I think my hubby scrubbed one piece too hard and put a little rip in it so now the milk comes out too quickly.
